Life As A Uni Student

Tuesday, July 26th, 2005

You noe, before I enter U, I always tot that uni life is v carefree and like those uni phamplets we receive on our high school graduation day, you get to sit under trees to study and wear watever you deem is fashionable at that time…But it seems that I was in for a shock when I entered U. Life here is not as carefree as I tot it would be. Yes, we no longer have to pack out brains wif so many subjects in 1 day like we use to when we were still in high school, we are free to do ALMOST watever we wan, and we do fool around……..but I would not use the word carefree to describe our lives here. In my uni,the guys are ‘obliged’ to wear collared shirts when attending lectures and no jeans is allowed. The gals on the other hand, are free to wear any type of clothing they like as long as it adheres to the ’sifat kesopanan’ here. Lectures are quite long, and trust me, it is easy to fall asleep during 1 (lol, i am happy to say that I manage to stay awake durign all lectures) as the lectures jus aint communicatiing correctly with us (>_@) definately not in the same bandwidth (>_<) For freshies, I believe our greatest challenge is to figure out where to start studying as there is no fixed textbooks and you most probably have to find all the notes yourself after lectures.Lucky for us there is such things called the buddy-system and the lecture notes (complimentary of the lectures). Honestly speaking, you really need lots of discipline to study here as you tend to slack and not study as you will get ‘lost’ after a few lectures. It will be a good idea to find a groups of hardworking frens and another group of frens to hang out when you wish to relax and alternate between both …….hahaha but then again,if you noe what u wan, there is no such needs to find 2 groups as 1 would most probably serve your purpose ;p

My First Weekend In KL

Sunday, July 17th, 2005

Yo yo to all out there!!!I noe, there aint much for u guys to celebrate bout but hey, to me, this weekend is extremely special!!Yup you read it rite, it is officially my first weekend in KL as a uni student and by myself too!!On sat, i went out with my beloved, dear laopo!!!Luv her so much, too bad can only meet her like once in a month mayb?(thats wat she said, she wants to save on the expenses)so sad,but it was nice finally meeting her after 3 weeks!!!The long walk from my hostel to the fac to the monorail station was really worth it!!!Although I only get to b wif her for like erm….2 hours but its still worth it O(>_<)O I accompanied her to shop for new clothes at Times Square. There r lots of really good bargains at Times. All you need is some time (errr lots of it) to finish all 7 floors at that complex and by the time u finish browsing tru all those shops……trust me, make sure your mum is around to limit your spending (^ ^) The reason for such a short date is that she lives too far from the city, and in order to let her reach her hostel safely (my definition of safe: before it becomes dark, that is before 7 (>_@)V)sigh, so much to worry about. If only Malaysia is as safe as Japan…….Well after sending her off, I continued to explore KL. I met up wif some of my coursemates at Sungai Wang and the whole group of us window-shoped every single shop there is to c at Sungai wang (we skipped Lot 10 due to time constrain) before returning back to our hostel. Then, its the same old long walk from the monorail station to our fac to our hostel……Today (Sunday) is a bit bored though, nothing much to do, no window shopping, no dates and most of all nothing special happened. All I did today were the PTPTN agreement signing and a trip to UO(Uda Ocean) to buy some necessities.Well, I look forward to a better weekend next week. May my wish come true ;p

But i did learn some new things these few days and like usual these things i learnt, as i have come to comprehend, quickly became obselete and i have to start learning new things again! The seniors were cool,(NOTE: WERE) but i dun really blame them ;p u noe study stress and so on ;p hahhaha who wouldn’t break under it (>_@)V lol, but they are nice enuf to show us around and tell us all the ‘underhand’ tactics in our U and those special info and trick and cool deals that oni those seniors would noe (^_^)o Opps jus remembered that i need to meet up wif my mates at the cafeteria! CHao!!

Campus Life

Saturday, July 9th, 2005

Today will be the last day of my orientation in UKM’s KL campus!! Man,it had been a very tiring week but none the less, it is one extremely exciting week with lots of activities and lectures. The lectures were long and boring, but I think I really have to give credit to those lecturers who actually tried to make it interesting and funny, which I mus admit they succeed most of the time (>_@)V But then again, sitting so cramped up in that big hall wasn’t really the best way to kill time (>_<) ! One thing I mus say though, is that the PCs here were (still is) extremely helpful and nice and friendly throughout the whole week to make sure that we have the best time of our life. I really would wish to say this out to them personally during the ‘feel free to express yourself’ session but too bad, i am down with a serious cough that sees me being too quite even for my comfort throughout the whole week;p Tonite we are going to have our dinner with all the Deans and the principal of our college. Hopefully everything will go fine and it will be a cool and fun-filled nite. Well, thats that for the time being, gota run to get my luch! Look out for my next post!!
